Terri Wilson is delighted to be directing again after an almost 10 year break from theater. She last directed The Autism Chronicles in collaboration with the Mind Matters institute. Prior to that she directed Sylvia, and before that Lend Me A Tenor, both for MCT. You may remember that she also directed most of The Follies shows which were very successful fundraisers for the Calaveras County Youth Mentoring program. As co-founder of Murphys Creek Theatre, Terri has seen it go through some ups and downs over the years, and is very excited to see it coming back from the pandemic hiatus stronger than ever with some exciting new goals for our 2023 season. Meanwhile, she is thrilled to be working with such a talented cast of actors on a show that’s just plain FUN!
“Lauren is very excited to be part of her first production with Murphys Creek Theatre. She recently made her acting debut in Shakespeare on the Vine Theatre Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Snug the Joiner/ Lion. When she isn’t on stage, Lauren is reading tarot or enjoying one of many hobbies with her spouse like skiing, traveling, or walking their dogs.”
Zie Harman is excited to return to the MCT Stage for It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. You may recognize her from King Lear, where she played the role of Cordelia, or the multitude of shows she’s been a part of at Fourth Wall Entertainment Troupe in San Andreas such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Lorelei), Sylvia (Sylvia), Blithe Spirit (Edith), and Boeing-Boeing (Gretchen, among others. When Zie isn’t onstage, she’s a dedicated student at Columbia College in Sonora. Zie would like to thank her friends and family for always supporting her show after show!
Holly is excited to be back onstage with Murphys Creek Theater. You may have seen her recently in Shakespeare on the Vine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Quince or juggling in downtown Murphys. Previous MCT credits include Sergeant O’Hara in Arsenic and Old Lace and Nurse Sandwich & Pinhead in The Elephant Man. With Shakespeare on the Vine she has played Rosencrantz in Hamlet a musical island spirit in The Tempest, Thane of Lennox in Macbeth and at Stage 3, Jo Carlson in Cowgirls: the Musical. She’d like to thank the local community and travellers from near and far for helping arts and music thrive in our small town.
Mike Moon (Harry “Jazzbo” Heywood) Mike is thrilled to be returning to the MCT stage! Mike has appeared at most of the Valley and Foothill theaters and was last seen on our stage in “Inspecting Carol”. MCT audiences may recall his funny but often poignant performances in “Over The River and Through The Woods” and “Driving Miss Daisy”. Mike makes his home in Oakdale with his husband, Kent, and their menagerie of furry friends.
Ethan Jovanovic is so happy to be returning for his second show at Murphys Creek Theatre! Currently based in Philadelphia, he graduated from NYU after studying at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Todd has been involved with MCT since 2001. A graduate of SJDC’s Actor Training Program, he spent 4 working with MCT and Stage 3 Theatre before moving to NYC and Portland OR, before coming full circle to these beautiful Sierra Foothills. This show is especially fun for me as it brings back great memories of my role in 1940’s Radio
Hour at Columbia Actor’s Repertory back in 1992 and reprised again in ’93. There is something
about the old radio show format that has that “feel good” nostalgia, even for those who were
born long after the golden age of radio was a thing of the past. Combine that with the story
from one of America’s most beloved Christmas movies of all time and you’ve got the perfect
recipe for a great evening of good old-fashioned entertainment for all ages. We hope that you
will be transported to another time and another world, where angels answer prayers and an
entire town is impacted by one man who cared enough to postpone his own dreams to help
make dreams come true for those around him. This reminds us that the true spirit of Christmas
isn’t about how we celebrate this holiday season but about opening our hearts to those around
us, especially in this current world where we’ve never felt more divided. My hope is that the
warmth generated by this special story will carry you through this Holiday Season with a smile
on your face and a song in your heart. Happy Holidays!
