At Murphys Creek Theatre, we are dedicated to bringing exceptional theatre productions to the Calaveras and surrounding communities. As we approach our 30th anniversary in 2024, we face significant challenges due to the implementation of Assembly Bill 5, which has exponentially increased our day-to-day operational costs and limited the shows we can produce.
Despite these obstacles, we remain committed to overcoming them, continuing to offer high-quality productions, and growing our education program. To achieve this goal, we need your support. Our estimated annual budget for a fully operational and sustainable MCT is approximately $800,000, but we are setting an immediate goal of $300,000 to guarantee a 2024 season is realized on a bare minimum of funds and staff.
Your one-time donations are greatly appreciated, but ongoing annual sponsorships and donations are needed to sustain the theatre and help it grow into an even more significant part of the community. We have been heartened by the gradual growth in our audience numbers and the response to our summer youth education program, and we are committed to preserving this momentum and growing on it.
